Kimberley Gray, The Vagus Nerd
Amazon-optimized book covers and brand strategy for a wellness author building credible authority.

Client: The Vagus Nerd / Retail Partner: Amazon / Role: Creative Director / Industry: Health & Wellness

Kimberley Elisabeth Gray is a wellness author and educator behind The Vagus Nerd. She had built her brand herself using AI-generated assets and a Hostinger website — but the site had no clear direction or calls to action for anyone stumbling across it.

The centrepiece of the work was two Amazon-optimized book covers — designed to stand out at thumbnail scale in a keyword-driven search environment, balancing discoverability with strong visual hierarchy. Supporting that, I refined her existing logo into a cohesive identity system with badge, wordmark, and earthy palette, then restructured her website — rewriting copy for clarity and creating clear pathways for book discovery.

The debut title reached Page 1 on Amazon within 30 days of publication, achieved bestseller status, and generated $1,600 in monthly sales within its first six months.

"After being disappointed by another designer, I hired Laura for my book covers. Her designs were instantly loved for their professionalism and impact — and she even helped with Amazon keywords to make sure they ranked. I'm forever grateful."
